Trahos Dental is committed to the health and well-being of our community, our patients and our team members. It is with cautious optimism that we announce our plan to begin the careful and methodical re-opening of our office to routine and elective dental care on Monday, May 4, 2020.
Trahos Dental recognizes that the risk associated with the Covid-19 virus is not gone from our community, and likely will not be gone until such time as a vaccine is widely available. We take our role in reducing the spread of the Covid-19 virus as seriously as we take our role in promoting the oral and over-all health of our patients and our community.
In addition to our already stringent infection control procedures, Trahos Dental will be implementing the following changes to our facility and to the the way we provide care and interact with our patients:
We will limit the number of patients in our office at any given time.
We will schedule more time between patient appointments to allow for an increased number of sanitation and infection control procedures.
We recommend that those patients of advanced age or with other underlying systemic health conditions, who are at risk for the most serious complications from the virus, continue to delay non-urgent and elective care until better control of the pandemic is achieved.
We have a new patient and team member screening process, which includes a questionnaire and forehead temperature assessment, prior to welcoming patients and team members into our office.
We ask that our patients remain in their vehicles and notify us of their arrival by cellular phone whenever possible. A team member will meet you at your car and escort you into the building when we are ready to receive you. We will take a “no-touch” forehead temperature assessment at this time.
We have installed several air-scrubbers that use photoelectric chemical oxidation (PECO) to rapidly remove contaminates like bacteria and viruses from the air.
We will observe the social distancing rules whenever it is possible to do so. We recognize that dental treatment necessitates that clinical team members and patients come into close contact. Our clinical team is implementing the most up to date methods of hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment to mitigate the risk of Covid-19 transmission.
We hope that our patients will feel free to ask our team members about the steps that we are taking to curb the community spread of the Covid-19 virus. While we recognize that our patients’ experiences will be changed by these new safety precautions, the entire team at Trahos Dental remains dedicated to our mission of improving the lives of our patients by providing the highest standard of dental care in the most compassionate, safe and friendly setting possible.
