Hi, my name is Adalina Avdiu and I'm a research director at a private firm which measures customer satisfaction for large corporations and improving and consulting with them. When I first considered having cosmetic dentistry I was concerned about the cost, but after meeting with Dr. Phillips and his staff I learned that it's a great value. In fact, only rich people can afford cheap dentistry.

Hi, my name is Dennis Gonier. I've been a patient of Dr. Phillips for over ten years. I'm from Virginia and I'm in the consulting business. I'm actually CEO of a firm that's been around forty years and I work with large corporations in America in the area of customer service and the measurement and research of customer satisfaction. I met Dr. Phillips over ten years ago when I had a very strange pain, a sharp random pain, in my cheek bone and a friend recommended that I come see Dr. Phillips and said that he was "the best" in the business. I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Phillips. He had a way about him that engaged me on a personal level. I could tell that he was a warm, caring person. And then I began to realize just how much he was an expert in the field of dentistry. He had diagnosed my problem as arising from something that a dentist had done many years ago; poor quality work. And he explained it to me, he took the time to educate me which I thought was a gift and a very rare thing in the profession.
Dr. Phillips has a passion for quality that is second to none and rare in most professions. He is very attentive to detail, procedure, he is meticulous in his work and throughout it all he cares, he genuinely cares about his customer. His staff I believe are some of the finest you'll ever find and you can tell his handiwork is all over the training of his staff. They're very friendly, they know who you are, they recognize you and you can tell that he takes a great deal in selecting who works for him and then in treating and teaching them to get better every day.
Over the years that I've been with Dr. Phillips it became very clear that he knew an awful lot about cosmetic dentistry. I remember one time him specifically pointing out that I grind my teeth so much and have done that for so long that to call them teeth would be a little bit of an exaggeration, they were just little nubs up here. He presented to me an idea that through cosmetic dentistry I could redo the front part of my teeth, upper and lower. I'm in a very visible business; I do a lot of public speaking, I engage clients, CEOs, executives of major corporations and it matters how I appear. Not just to me personally, but to my career. Dr. Phillips took the time to explain to me how veneers work and the difference between high quality work and average work. I was so comforted and took such great confidence in his work and professionalism that I was very excited to enter into this adventure to have my mouth completely redone by Dr. Phillips, and he was wonderful.
It is not an overnight process and throughout the process he's there every minute, as is his staff, in making sure that things go smoothly. I remember him telling me about the lab that he hand-picks to have the teeth made and that out of all the choices available this particular lab is the only one he would work with.
I could not be happier with the impact of Dr. Phillips work both in my appearance, my self confidence and in the way that I'm able to deal with the public and deal in a business sense with people. It has been a life changing procedure and it's also given me a deeper respect for what quality means in a profession where somebody is so closely involved in how you look, as well as your health. It's a real pleasure and honor to work with Dr. Phillips and I highly recommend him and his staff to anyone in the field of dentistry and cosmetic dentistry.
In my business we counsel clients on how to improve customer relationships and on what's important to measure and these days one of the most things companies look at is are you willing to recommend somebody. I'm very willing to recommend Dr. Phillips because of his attention to quality, his personal care for his patients, the people in his office, his attention to detail at every level of producing the finest service he can possibly do. When it comes to me the people that I've recommended to Dr. Phillips include family members as well as friends and just acquaintances where I might hear somebody needs something. When you recommend your wife, you recommend your son, to go see somebody to have their mouth taken care of you really can't give a higher recommendation of somebody than that.
I'm reminded when I come into Dr. Phillips' office from the awards, the recognition, the prestigious honors that he's received that it isn't just his patients who know that the're dealing with the best. He is hands down one of the finest dentists in the country and therefore in the world. To be able to come here in his office and have the best work done; it's a real thrill, as well as a benefit.

Howard Wayne Carney
Howard Wayne Carney
My name is Wayne Carney and I have come here this afternoon to testify about my excellent experience with Dr. Tom Phillips and the work that he has done on my teeth over the years. I come here grateful that I've been blessed because he is such a caring and excellent dentist. I live here locally, I own a remodeling business and I am also an ordained Baptist minister. I'm in a pulpit almost every Sunday preaching and it's important to me that I have a nice smile and have nice teeth and that you don't have to cover your mouth.
I met Dr. Phillips, I was referred to him and I guess because my teeth had been neglected for so many years, I was born and raised out in the country and we didn't have a lot of dental care, and just kind of made do, just go on, you're busy people and you just go on, you tough it out. I had gotten to the point where I was tired of loading up on over the counter painkillers and I wanted to get something done. I was told that really because my teeth had been so neglected that there was little else that could be done for me. But I was told that Dr. Phillips could do something for me. Rather than telling me all the things that were wrong with my dental situation, he simply told me all of the things that he could do. He outlined a plan, he set aside a whole day just for me and he went to work. I wish I'd had it done years earlier, it's made just a tremendous difference in my life. He did far above what I expected could be done; I'm so proud of being in the place where I am now and having the opportunities I have now and wouldn't have had. You may not know what it's like to cover your mouth every time you speak to someone because your teeth look bad; black, rotten, just in bad shape. But now, no problem at all smiling and feeling good about this.
It's hard to believe that this was possible but it happened for me and it can happen for you too. Not only is he a caring, highly skilled at what he does, but his entire staff has treated me better than I ever could have expected. They really care about how I feel, they care about whether I'm in any pain; they're just very kind. And I can tell you there wasn't any pain; I got my whole mouth redone and I'll say it again I have been blessed to have known this man and to know this man. The only thing I don't look forward to in the future is the day that he retires and I have to go somewhere else.
If you are considering and you really want to get something done well, you want to get it done right, I would recommend him with all of my heart.

Pamela Faye Minter
Pamela Faye Minter
Hello, my name is Pamela Minter, I'm from King George County. I met Dr. Phillips a long time ago actually, probably about 1977. I came to see him because I had a toothache and was in a lot of pain. On that day he extracted that tooth and unbeknownst to me that was the beginning of a long relationship with him. We are still very good friends and he is continuing to be my dentist after all these years. Actually, just a couple of years after I had that original tooth extracted, I came to him and asked him to repair the empty spot where my tooth had been extracted and he was able to put a three-unit bridge in for me. That was approximately 1979 or 1980 and right now that tooth, that three-unit bridge I should say, is as good today as it was then. I've had absolutely no problems with it since then. He has, throughout the years, maintained all of my dentistry for which I am extremely proud. He has also done another three-unit bridge for me that was probably in the 83, 84 time frame and that bridge is also as good today as it was back then.
He began a project with me 13 or 14 years ago to fix my short teeth in the front; I had a diastema that was pretty large between my two front teeth. That dentistry was a tremendous project for both he and myself and I proudly say today that that particular project completely changed my life. I run into people all the time, even though it's been probably 12 years since we completed this project, and I get compliments all the time about how beautiful my smile is. I play games with my friends or anyone that ran into me because they could not figure out what the change was, they immediately noticed a change in me but they didn't know what it was. After letting them guess was it my hair, was it my eyes, was it my cosmetics, I finally told them that it was my teeth, and from that point on I was showered with compliments. Thankfully I continue to be showered with compliments about my smile.
He's been a tremendous blessing to me. He's not only my dentist, he is my friend. Speaking of friends I have had a number of friends and family that I have suggested come to see him and he continues to do their dentistry as well and they have been extremely pleased with the work he's done on them also. So that's my story, I don't even want my dentist to retire although I know that's going to happen one of these days. In fact, I've already told my dentist that he needs to put a chair in his home so that he can take care of my dentistry after he retires.

In the beginning I'd noticed one day that I had a chipped tooth on one of my teeth. I was worried about that because I knew that eventually it would get worse. At my family dentistry one of the ladies that worked there recommended Dr. Tom to me and that's how our relationship started, over a chipped tooth. I came in; he diagnosed the situation, the problem, what I had, what I needed. We set up a schedule. The schedule went great. You're nervous when you first start, but it was actually easy, it wasn't an ordeal, it was an easy operation, it really was. His staff made me feel at home, comfortable while I was here. They did the work, they knew that I needed in and out because I had a schedule that I had to meet also. They worked with me. Everything turned out just the way I wanted and they did a great job. Believe me I would recommend him to anybody, any of my friends, as a matter of fact I already have so if they get what I got they'll be happy campers, believe me. And you can see, my chip's gone.
